BRIEF SUMMARY

The Department of Energy (EIA) Weekly Petroleum Status Report has been included in the LIM core date coverage effective Friday, December 20, 2002. 

Historical data is available back to 1982.

It is anticipated by analysts that the DOE weekly report will become more significant to the energy market in January 2003 when its release will be timed to coincide with the API Weekly Statistical Summary on Wednesday mornings.
