MarketHistory.com research is an example of the scanning and analyzing capabilities provided by the LIM family of products.  The primary tools used are XMIM and Jobs for XMIM.

The programs are used in the following manner:

  • Models that describe interesting market activity, or have proven some degree of predictive ability are created, each designed to return either true or false if the model tested is occurring for that symbol on the date tested.

  • These models are then placed under the control of Jobs for XMIM, and executed each day, checking the model against yesterdays data.

  • Jobs for XMIM outputs the results in two forms, email or directly to a file, depending on the type of query.

  • Emailed results typically flag events like chart patterns, divergences, and government reports,  these events are then combined with further conditions to closely match current market activity, the goal being to find skewed result sets (opportunity).

  • Results output to files are typically current market statistics such as close, percent move, and support / resistance points.  These files are then reprocessed to create web pages for quick and easy access to the data

Published features include:

  • Today's Idea - this is the result of modeling current activity, and includes queries and results from the research departments daily scan.

  • Query Archives - these are the results of the daily scan, sorted by markets, and date.

  • Daily Numbers - settlement, support and resistance for a wide variety of markets.
