MIMIC is a user-friendly research software program designed to create graphs or tables using historical data. These tables or graphs are constructed from the information contained within a worksheet. You construct a worksheet by making selections in the Data Builder that is located in the MIMIC Configuration window.
Upon opening MIMIC, the Configuration window appears as follows:
The Title Bar displays at the top of the Configuration window. The title bar shows the name of the software (MIMIC), and, in brackets, the server and port number.
Directly under the title bar is the Menu Bar. The menu bar is the primary way to access MIMIC's functions. These functions are commands that control the behavior of the program (i.e. saving a worksheet, retrieving a saved worksheet, printing a table or graph or exiting the program). Each word listed on the menu bar represents a pull-down menu with certain command options.
Beneath the menu bar is the MIMIC toolbar. This toolbar allows you to easily access MIMIC's most common functions.
Beneath the MIMIC toolbar is the Worksheet toolbar. You can use this toolbar to add or remove rows in the worksheet, add contracts and create favorites.
The Worksheet appears as the space beneath the Worksheet toolbar,
and is the result of the data series or formulas that were created in the
Data Builder. At the bottom left-hand corner of the Worksheet are two
arrows ![]()
. Use these arrows to minimize or maximize the MIMIC
Worksheet.
