The BMIM facility allows users to interact with XMIM in a batch mode. BMIM is primarily designed as a facility to batch updates to the database. It can also be used to perform other tasks, such as executing a saved XMIM query or sending the results to a given file.

BMIM does not connect to an X-Server, though there is a client version of BMIM that does.
