Date File Addition: us_security_events.date

LIM has added the date file: "us_security_events.date" to the date file listing in XMIM. To use the new date file from XMIM, just open the Date Condition window and select:

  "Date Files>XMIM>DISASTERS>CRISIS> us_security_events.date"

For detailed information on the date file, see the README file accessible from your XMIM application. You can view the README file using the XMIM Text Editor. From XMIM, just select "XMIM>Text Editor". In the text editor window, select the "Open" icon and go to the path "/home/limall/dates/user/DISASTERS/CRISIS" and select the README file.

MIM "Other" Category Relocations

As part of our ongoing desire to keep your MIM database up-to-date and make the data more accessible to users, we intend to move all of the data under the following TopRelation:Other categories:

TopRelation:Other:InvestSentiment will relocate to TopRelation:EconomicIndicators:USA_Economic:InvestSentiment
TopRelation:Other:LondonMetals will relocate to TopRelation:Energy:Futures:LMEmetals
TopRelation:Other:ForeignExch will relocate to TopRelation:ForeignExchange
TopRelation:Other:EnergyCash will relocate to TopRelation:Energy:Futures:SpotIndices
TopRelation:Other:Astronomy will relocate to TopRelation:Astronomy

The new category LMEmetals will also contain new subcategories that reflect the metal type such as "AluminiumAlloy", "Copper", and "Nickel."

It is planned to implement these changes on
June 25, 2004.

Customers will not see any difference in symbols or columns, just the parent change in the hierarchy. The only likely impact would be if an XMIM query referred to the entire relation of the data for one of the TopRelation:Other (or any sub branch) categories listed above (i.e. TopRelation:Other:InvestSentiment). If queries refer directly to symbols, they will not be affected. If you have any questions about this intended change or its impact, please contact our customer support desk at: +1.800.546.9646 (U.S) or +44(0) 207.553.2639 (Europe) or email: support@lim.com.
