LIM Data Warehouse - October 2002 - Energy
Argus signs a distribution agreement with LIM for
Energy Argus Utility data. The agreement covers
forward pricing in coal, oil, power and emissions to
provide an in-depth long-term outlook for the
industry.
The Energy Argus Utility data set is an essential
resource for traders and financial analysts
interested in the long-term health and performance
of energy merchants and utilities. The combination
of the Argus depth of data history, its long forward
curves on fuels, power and emissions, and the LIM
functionality allows users to quickly benchmark
individual company performance against the general
market trend and to mark far forward positions to
market.
"I am pleased to announce the partnership
with Energy Argus," said Jim Garland, Executive
Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Logical
Information Machines. "The Energy Argus Utility
data is an important addition to the unmatched LIM
energy data offering. It also will help us expand
our client base by giving us the opportunity to
provide a lower cost solution to the
utilities."
"We've been serving the petroleum and power
industry for years in partnership with LIM, and
we're delighted to be able to extend our offering
with this more comprehensive package of data for
utilities," said Abudi Zein, Chief Executive
Officer of Argus Media Inc.
Argus relies exclusively on trader surveys to

About Energy Argus
Energy Argus Inc., the youngest company in the Argus
group is dedicated to creating a knowledge and
analysis resource for the power industry in the US
and Europe. The guiding principle in the Argus
coverage is to ensure market and industry relevance.
Cutting through the noise means rigorous culling of
hype and fluff and a sharp focus on market-moving
developments, whether it's a short-term plant
operations or long-term political maneuvers.
Energy Argus covers news and prices as well as
focusing on reporting on all developments that might
have a medium- or long-term impact on power markets.
In July 2000, Energy Argus acquired the assets of
Fieldston Publications. The addition of information
on coal, air and rail deepened the Argus' coverage
and allowed the company to offer our clients a more
holistic approach to analyzing the economics of the
utility industry.
